SR-71A Blackbird 

One of the most well-known jets in the world and the fastest "mass-produced" aircraft. The USA created the SR-71 reconaissance aircraft to enter enemy airspace while operating at high altitudes and speeds to avoid enemy notice and/or fire.

Up until 1990, it was formally used by the Air Force (was reactived for a short period later and still flown by NASA).

The SR-71A is shown in this rendition (17972 is the aircraft now located at the Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C., also seen in Transformers 3). The photographer's position was replaced by an elevated second cockpit in the trainer version of the SR-71B.
